I spy some Kobra street art!

If you want to find some of the best pieces in NYC, I always recommend visiting Bushwick, Brooklyn (home to the Bushwick Collective) and the Lower East Side. I offer private street art tours of Bushwick and I also recommend Inside Out Tour's Alternative New York Street Art Tour: Lower East Side.

Crossing Brooklyn Ferry
by Walt Whitman

Flow on, river! flow with the flood-tide, and ebb with the ebb-tide!
Frolic on, crested and scallop-edg’d waves!
Gorgeous clouds of the sunset! drench with your splendor me, or the men and women generations after me!
Cross from shore to shore, countless crowds of passengers!
Stand up, tall masts of Mannahatta! stand up, beautiful hills of Brooklyn!
Throb, baffled and curious brain! throw out questions and answers!
Suspend here and everywhere, eternal float of solution!
Gaze, loving and thirsting eyes, in the house or street or public assembly!

First Trip to Governors Island

First Trip to Governors Island First Trip to Governors Island
Nov. 01, 2017

Can you believe that I lived in NYC for 9 years and had NEVER been to Governors Island? It has been on my bucket list of things I need to do in NYC this year and I finally decided to go check it out! What better reason than to celebrate Halloween?

This year the RISE of the Jack O'Lanterns had a special event on Governors Island called "Night of a 1,000 Jack O'Lanterns". I will say, I really don't think there were 1,000 pumpkins. More like 200. But the event was a lot of fun and the ferry views of Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn Bridge, and NJ were AMAZING.

Speaking of the ferry, it's open year round. For adults it's only $2 to Ride the ferry and it's totally free on weekends! And children are always free! The views of NYC are spectacular, so I highly recommend taking the time to visit.

If you watch Sex and the City, you will definitely recognize this NYC staple! The world renowned Magnolia Bakery. Magnolia Bakery is famous for their cupcakes and their banana pudding recipe. I will admit, I was a banana pudding skeptic. However, on one of my recent tours, our group insisted on trying some and we all agreed- the pudding was AMAZING!! I also love the fact that Magnolia Bakery is NYC based- all started in their West Village location in 1996. What's not to love?

The Secret to Broadway Tickets

The Secret to Broadway Tickets The Secret to Broadway Tickets
Jan. 24, 2017

When I first moved to NYC, I wondered how everyone was able to buy affordable Broadway tickets! Well, here is an app designed to make all of your Broadway dreams come true: TodayTix. A free app you can download directly to your phone, you can view prices for each Broadway show listed. Prices change daily, but they are THE BEST prices (I am talking $39 to see the Rockettes, $49 for Wicked, etc). Of course, the prices vary depending on the time of year and amount of tickets previously sold. On top of the good news, all you need to view prices is an e-mail address! Once purchased, a TodayTix rep will meet you outside of the theatre with your tickets, 15 minutes before showtime. No lines, no waiting, and easy peasy.
